Geothermal heat pumps coupled to radiant slabs? Sure Todd, that's a marriage
built in heaven. Radiant slabs work well with the modest up-to-120-degrees
that heat pumps produce comfortably. Looks like most systems use a water
tank for some thermal storage, which also doubles as the household hot water
tank. Check out this guy's system: http://www.ourcoolhouse.com/  He's got
some very clever hardware and software use going on, and is quite happy to
share his knowledge.

I have seen small scale heat pump water heaters, but has anyone seen any 
kind heat pump water heating machines that will crank out like 30K Btu's?

Most folks understandably love infloor heating, but they are usually 
roped to a fossil fool... like fool oil or propane. If a large heat pump 
water heater was made, we could bring the efficiency of a heat pump and 
the comfort of infloor heating to new homes.

Has anyone heard of or considered this?
