Another thing though that we have seen is that you can get up to around 10%
more from snow reflectance on bright clean snow.

NREL's PVWatts (version one) also makes it easy to compare but I don't
think any of these programs factor in snow shading. The steeper angle
of an array adjusted for winter angle of incidence also facilitates snow
shedding in snow country.

Crunch numbers? Hey, make it easy Conrad. The NREL Redbook gives you
average
kilowatt hours per month at latitude, latitude + 15 degrees, and
latitude -
15 degrees. (Plus at 0 and 90 degrees, and with single or dual axis
trackers
just in case you want ALL your options.) It covers hundreds of US sites
with
actual data collected 1960 thru 1990. It's all on pdfs, download the
whole
enchilada, or individual States here:
http://rredc.nrel.gov/solar/pubs/redbook/

And just in case you want the really easy answer, it's about 5% to 7%
gain
for most of the US if you adjust tilt twice a year.

Cheers,

Has anybody crunched the numbers on seasonal tilting of PV panels? Like
what overall gain could one hope to get?
