Good Morning Folks,

Just when you were beginning to remember what co-generation meant, Full
Stop. Combined Heat and Power (actually CHP) is the new buzzword.

Since HVAC folks are probably no less than 100X better organized and much
more widely established than the RE community, it is only fitting that they
would be the Chosen to carry this technology the last mile.

Climate Energy and Honda Launch New Energy Technology For the Home
Micro-CHP System Will Allow Homeowners to Produce Their Own Electricity
While Heating Their Homes

Medfield, MA-April 26, 2005-Climate Energy LLC and the American Honda Motor
Company today announced collaboration on a major breakthrough in
residential home heating-an appliance that will give U.S. homeowners the
ability to create electricity from the energy they already use to heat
their homes. It is the first time that this technology will be available
and affordable for practical use by homeowners in the U.S.

Climate Energy's Micro-CHP System will combine today's proven space-heating
technology with Honda's new MCHP engine/generator unit. (Micro-CHP is an
industry term for micro-sized combined heat and power systems.) Climate
Energy's residential combined heat and power technology achieves a
combination of thermal comfort, energy efficiency, environmental benefit,
and affordability that is well beyond anything yet achieved for residential
energy systems.

"This is real. The technology is ready today and will change the way the
home heating industry does business," said Dr. Eric Guyer, CEO at Climate
Energy.

Like Honda's hybrid automobiles, Climate Energy's Micro-CHP System provides
real advantages while building upon proven mechanical and electrical
technology. The owners of Climate Energy Micro-CHP Systems will enjoy
enhanced thermal comfort, ultra-quiet operation, and quick payback on their
investment.
Climate Energy has teamed with Honda, the world's pre-eminent manufacturer
of engines. Honda's MCHP technology is also the established world leader in
micro-size electrical power generation. The MCHP unit incorporates Honda's
advanced engine, emissions-control, and solid-state power conversion
technologies in an integrated package that meets the requirements for
residential combined heat and power systems.

"We are excited to use our MCHP technology for this partnership with
Climate Energy," said Wade Terry, vice president of Honda Power Equipment,
the Honda division responsible for overseeing the company's involvement in
the project. "In the last two years, we have placed over 15,000 similar
units in homes in Japan and the results have shown that the technology
works and works now."

Operating with natural gas, America's most widely-used home energy source,
Climate Energy's products will have application to millions of homes. They
are configured to conveniently replace existing space heating furnaces and
boilers in new and existing homes. The concept is simple: Electric power is
produced as a by-product of the normal supply of heat to the home. The
result can be dramatic; lower electric bills will be experienced by
homeowners, while ultimately lowering the nation's overall energy use and
pollutant emissions.

For the average user of Climate Energy's Micro-CHP System, up to 4,500
kilowatt hours (kWhr) of electricity can be generated annually, providing
approximately a $600 reduction in annual electric costs. The system is also
expected to yield a 30% reduction in harmful carbon dioxide emissions as
compared with conventional heating appliances and grid supplied
electricity, with the biggest impact resulting from the displacement of
coal-fired electric power generation at central power plants. Long term,
Climate Energy's Micro-CHP System has the potential to become part of the
evolving mix of electric power generation systems that electric utilities
will need to meet the nation's ever-growing demand for electric power.

The Climate Micro-CHP System combines the over 85% efficient Honda MCHP
technology with today's most efficient gas heating technology for unrivaled
total energy efficiency in combined heat and power delivery. Indeed,
Climate Energy's Micro-CHP System will bring to the homeowner many of the
conservation and environmental benefits that could previously only be
achieved with solar and wind technologies, without their challenging siting
and installation requirements. These benefits will be achieved by a system
that pays for itself in electric power savings. The inherent virtue of
combining heat and power generation is well recognized by energy experts
and is a major part of the government's plan to make the country more
energy efficient. Combined heat and power, commonly known as CHP, is also
widely accepted as the most practical approach to reducing carbon dioxide
emissions and their potential impact on global warming. CHP has already
been widely practiced on an industrial scale. Climate Energy, in an
industry first, now has a practical micro-CHP system for the home.

The new technology was unveiled today at Boston's Museum of Science.
Climate Energy Micro-CHP Systems, powered by Honda ™, will be offered
through certified and experienced home heating contractors. Limited field
test installations will be conducted this year in coordination with state
and local authorities and energy utilities. Introduction to the general
market in specific regions is expected in 2006. Climate Energy Micro-CHP
Systems offer many new and interesting business opportunities for the
energy and building industries looking for a competitive advantage--- for
fuel suppliers, electric utilities, heating equipment manufacturers,
installation and service providers, architects, home designers, and
builders. Climate Energy, in the years ahead, will be exploring many
different pathways for realizing the fundamental value of its micro-CHP
technology and system.

With the ability of homeowners to sell cogenerated power back to the grid
at full retail value-called net-metering-already available by law in
several states, including Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, Minnesota,
and Wisconsin, the market for the product is extensive.

Climate Energy was founded in 2000 by ECR International, Inc,
(www.ecrinternational.com) one of North America's leading providers of home
heating products and Yankee Scientific, Inc., (www.yankeescientific.com) an
energy technology development company. Climate Energy's mission is to
commercialize emerging micro-CHP technology within the well-established
manufacturing, sales, and installation infrastructure of the home heating
industry. Climate Energy plans to bring these products to the market over
the next several years in a variety of configurations, and with features
that will meet the diverse needs of homeowners as well as the requirements
of the home heating industry. For more information, visit
