Wrenches -
Yes we did complete the relisting of the MX60 MPPT charge controller to
150 vdc max along with all of the breakers (up to 80 amps DC). This
voltage of course is the maximum open circuit voltage produced by the PV
array under the coldest conditions for the paticular site.
This will allow use of the MX60 with 3 in series 24 vdc PV modules type
arrays in more locations - but still not all locations. It also varies
with the particular module used.
The new max voltage rating for the breakers is an additional ETL
approval on the breakers specifically for use with PV arrays only. This
was the fastest solution we could come up with as the breaker
manufacturers are pretty slow to make changes and still view the PV
market a speck of dust compared to their other markets. Hopefully we
will get one of them to add the listing to the standard breakers.
This higher voltahge rating applies to all of the OBDC and OBPV breakers
as well as the OB-GFP/2 ground fault protection device.
The copy of the authorization letter should be on our website within a
few days for you to use if questioned by an inspector.
