  Travis,

Where you been, boy?! This early wakeup method is the most common method
used by Zomeworks owners in central Cal. at least, and probably most places
besides, that is, bungee cords, tin foil reflctors (!), little kid's buckets
with sand and my personal favorite, a battery powered motor and spool that
winds up when the sun goes by-by!

I'd also like to mention the German/Chinese passive trackers that Dankoff
used to offer with the ETA pump system.. I generally found the ETA version
to be better made, more robust and more responsive than the ZW. I have one
site where I installed a ZW in 90 and an ETA in 2003 right next to each
other. The ETA begins returning to wakeup almost 1.5 hours before the ZW
consistantly.

I have a 1989 Zomewoiks tracker with 12 ancient Seimens myself!

<My home system has a 1991 Zomeworks tracker, one of the classics. I still
<keep a scrap of Romex wrapped around the pole to hook around the east
side
<of the array to gather an extra two hours or so of morning sun in the
<winter. The real bummer is when I forget to undo it later in the
morning...

A customer showed me his excellent solution to the Zomework's slow to wake
up issue. Around sunset he uses a stick to prop his tracker to about the
10:00 AM location. The next morning the when tracker wakes up it falls
off
the stick and proceeds to track the rest of the day!
