Hey Gary,
A simple but useful check is to measure the output voltage of the
inverter with a non-RMS digital meter. If it reads low (perhaps about
93 volts ac) then you probably lost a stage or two and it is operating
like a modified square wave. Also, if you notice reduced charging
capability this can be another sign.
Good luck!

Wrenches,
I'm troubleshooting a system for a client, and would appreciate your
pass on
the following:
This SW4024 recently started burning up battery chargers (yep DeWalt),
and
compact flourescent lights. Around the same time the microwave display
went
strange.
It sounds like maybe some of the SW's fet's have gone south.
What do you think?
Is there any way to know what's going on before the inverter comes off
the
wall (and a temporary substitute goes in for this off-grid client) and
goes
in for repair? I'm really not up for buying an O-scope, though maybe
there's
a modestly-priced attachment for my laptop. Thoughts?
Thanks!
Gary
