I use -1- on every seam to be sure, if the roof has not been PE inspected to
provide a minimum number. It's hard to know how well an existing roof is
attached. If its an iffy situation, definitely call a PE in. Then it's their
butt, not yours if it doesn't hold. AND S-5 has enough disclaimers to void
their warranty if not used for the engineered purpose of holding back snow.

For those of you who have used S-5 clamps for putting up mounting hardware
on standing seam metal roofs, how many clamps do you use over the length of,
say, an 11' rail?  The minimum number ought to be at least three, but I've
heard that five or more is, as we say here in Hawai'i, mo' bettah.  But
those #*&%@ clamps are expensive...
