Happy New Year to you too Joel,

I am guessing that 38KW is the smallest transformers that the utility 
stocks but I guess they don't realize that the PV system is REDUCING the 
load on the transformer not increasing it.  The only thing that I can 
even think of that a dedicated transformer would do is to prevent DC 
from getting to the neighboring houses in the very very very rare 
inverter failure that might pit the PV on the output.
