Allan,
I've never seen MC cable used in PV systems--not that it can't be used for
module-to-module wiring--but it would need to be grounded. Yes, if it was
used in a future ungrounded system, it would have to be multiconductor. I
think MC is actually a good idea if the module manufacturers would supply a
jumper to carry the conduit ground through the junction box.

We typically use single-conductor MC cable. Does this new provision mean
