does any one manufacturer a DC converter that can take the power directly
from the solar electric modules and converter it BEFORE the charge
controller instead of converting it out of the battery bank ????? gator tom
like 24 volts to a 12 volt charge controller for example a low cost 20 amp
12 volt charge controller having the 24 volt power converter to go into the
controller

Hey Todd,
Try www.solarconverters.com. Then click on "products" and "battery
balancers" which can also be used as DC/DC voltage converters.

List,
I remember a thread (which I cannot seem to find) where someone had
found a DC to DC converter (regulator) that was able to take power from
48 volt battery systems (60 volt max.) and get it down to a more usable
~24 volt range for use in powering a/hr meters, trackers etc.
Can someone refresh my memory. Everything in the digikey catalog I can
see will not take a 60 VDC input without releasing the smoke.
Todd
