Hi Jay,
            Voltages on flooded batteries should be calculated on a Volts
per cell basis so the string voltage should be immaterial.  I typically use
2.25 to 2.3Vpc for float, 2.4Vpc for bulk and 2.5 to 2.54Vpc for Eq.  Also
it can be important to temperature compensate if you have a fluctuation in
seasonal ambients.  The Eq one is important as in cold weather the temp
compensation could take it over the high battery disconnect of the inverter.
If this is the case the settings may need to be lowered.

Sure, at these settings the cells can use a bit of water but they don't
sulphate and they certainly don't stratify.
