Hi Ray, Yes its tough to find out whats real..  I have very rough seat of the 
pants opinions on battery life. What I find is that L16 will go about 5-7 
years while the big guys (IBE, Yuasa, etc) can go 15 years plus. Bottom line for 
me is if you value the aviodance of watering and equalizing multiple string 
battery setups, the bigger batteries deliver a better life cycle value. I'm 
assuming a well designed system, dod in the range of 25%. I have not lived long 
enough to say whether the premiums -Hupp, Surrette - are actually worth the 
extra cost compared to what I refer to as a standard forklift type battery.
