Do clean PV arrays operate cooler and produce more power?

We did an experiment in a suburban area and found that on two consecutive days with essentially the same weather (clear, no wind, 85F), a 4KW roof mounted array produced 7% more power after washing it down with a garden hose from a ladder.  The modules had not been washed for 4 months.  We recommend washing every 3-6 months unless it has rained.
