  Bill and Barbara,

Very good point Bill. Of course the Wattsun IS better than Zomeworks in
many situations, especially in high wind zones. Plus you can have a 2200
Watt array on one post!

The Zomeworks trackers are still heavy, prone to wind gust deflection and
rust just like they were when they first came on the scene. They are better
than they used to be since changing to a system requiring assembly but they
still have that dumb transfer tube that can easily kink and leak out all the
freon. They also have greatly improved the probability of actually having
all the required fasteners when it's time for assembly.

The Wattsun is a far more sophisticated mechanism and works extremely well
even if the AZ 225 is a bitch and a half to assemble without some kind of
mechanical assist in the field. Ay yi yi! I am actually putting one in right
now (well not RIGHT now) and am really impressed by the ever increasing
level of quality that comes out of Array Technologies compared to their
earlier versions - and Zomeworks.

  Barbra,

I'm wondering how you can come to the conclusion that WattSun is superior
to
Zomeworks by reading a WattSun website? With all due respect, it seems to
be
jumping to conclusions. Not defending Zomeworks at all--just trying to ask
a
  basic question.

If it's a windy place, bolt it down and leave it. Going after the
additional
energy at that location will likely end up with a broken tracker facing
the
wrong direction in year three of operation.

I assume this is in California where you get paid for modules not kWh. How
many big tracking systems are in California--NONE as part of the rebate
programs. The only big trackers in the state are on Municipal utilities
that
don't have a rebate program. Are trackers good--if you get the right ones
and their robust and cheap enough. In a California rebate program they
just
  don't compute.

  Bill.
