We have had a Beacon M5 (the reincarnation of the AEI MM5) in operation
since April of this year and it has performed flawlessly.  The transfer time
from grid to battery back-up is superior to its predecessor as is the DC-AC
conversion efficiency.  One of the nice things about this unit is that the
only external piece of equipment needed (aside from the modules, combiner,
etc.) is the battery disco.  Everything else is integrated into the inverter
assembly.

Anyone out there know anybody who's repairing them thar GC1000s?
