I have installed two 8kw units and hooked up 2 others. Simple two wire
start, LOUD.
Beware that Generac may void the warranty. Standby units should be just
that, standby. They might consider it being prime power and nix the
warranty. Oil leaks were prevalent.
You will need a small module to maintain the starting battery
Look into the Coleman Powermate 11.5kw w/Honda engine. Good price range,
quiet, 3yr warranty!

Esteemed Wrenches,

An off-grid client is looking to save a few $ by going with a Generac
Guardian (air-cooled 12kW model). Any horror stories he should know about
with these? Configurable for full-power at 120VAC? Typical lifespan?
