Reply good site however no mention of glycol compatibility of the expansion
tanks like AMTROL or    SPARCO  I might have overlooked it   Gator Tom

  Hi Tom,
Whatever fluid you may be using, did you size and precharge the
expansion tank correctly?
For Expansion Tank sizing go to http://www.flexconind.com/
For Tank pressure, determine the correct system pressure, with the
system unpressurised and ventilated, precharge the expansion tank to the
design pressure, then fill, purge and pressurize the system.
Typical design pressure is height of system in feet above expansion tank
divided by 2 plus 15. where 15 lbs is the design pressure to minimize
cavitation in the system. To be more precise, Precharge in PSI =3D (.5*H')
+ 15.
An over or under charged expansion tank will not maintain optimal system
pressure.
