Geoff,

So what's the problem with cannons?!

No, I'm not exactly angry, just irritated with the collective dumbness of
The State. The biggest irony (to me anyway) is that the various turbine
manufacturers don't even have to prove their power curve - (which is a
really fortunate thing since few are accurate) - to get approval; all they
have to do is be around for a certain period of time or have influential
promoters.

All this is just another reason why rebate programs really should be
performance based, be they solar or wind. As long as the inter-connecting
devices meet code requirements, all the equipment providers should be
allowed to prove themselves through their actual merits instead of having to
jump through exclusionary hoops created by proxy by their competitors.

Off-grid is about the only place now where all things are equal.

Matt T.-

We never install wind in "neighborhoods" with noise ordinances... or not
yet. Round my rural "hood" noise ordinances seem to mean that shotguns,
coon dogs, rock concerts and rifles ONLY - no black powder canons. The slow
mode feature comes on when the bats full (or power failure) and works great.
The chassis lug hasn't slowed down any plan review/inspections so far, but
it's just another step/pain. You sound pretty angry about your playing
field - good luck with that

Sincerely,

Geoff Greenfield
