net-metered efficiency observations [RE-wrenches]

Hey Jay,

Gotta disagree with you here. What happens with a simple disconnect is
that following an interrupt on AC1, the SW initiates a bulk charge
sequence. Bulk, absorb and float, and when that happens on a daily
basis it can use a lot of energy especially if the charge settings are
where they probably should be.

In Sharkey's work-around, the SW is disconnected from AC1 at the end of
the day and only reconnected after battery voltage comes up above the
bulk settings (using Aux relays), which happens pretty quickly during a
productive/sunny day.

If interested, try searching the wrenches Topica page with "SW work
around" in subject line. Otherwise contact me off-list and I'll hook
you up with it.

Regardless, thanks to Sharkey for working it out! -- Kurt

A inline relay, timer controlled held closed via grid power would save
almost all of that, for pretty darn cheap.
