Gridtie, breaking grounded conductor [RE-wrenches]

Matt,

Just to clarify, at the bottom of your post you mention a shorting jumper. I
think you are referring to a grounding jumper, and I would only recommend
that if you are talking about a small residential system. Shorting a PV
array with anything but a fully rated disconnect on a bigger PV system can
be dangerous.

Bottom line is if you don't know what you are doing--don't do it.
