RE USE-2 vs Rats [RE-wrenches]

I've seen it, but no photos.  Some USE-2  I have stored under my shed got 
chewed buy some rat, and I suspect that's what killed a couple of them critters.  
I asked the wire supplier if there was something intentionally put into the 
wire insulation to deter varmints and the answer was no.  For sure there is 
some other dastardly chemical in the stuff though.  It has a strong odor about 
it.
