Bob,
Per NEC 690.41 the negative lead from the array cannot be switched: "For a photovoltaic power source, one conductor of a two-wire system with a system voltage over 50 volts ... shall be solidly grounded ..."
The frame ground from the PV array in a grid tied system is usually bonded to the AC ground inside the inverter, using a split bolt or similar wrapped with rubber tape. The DC negative lead from the array is connected to the inverter's negative input and is not connected to ground, because if you did connect it to ground, the inverter's GFDI won't be able to sense a ground fault at the array.
