On the stacking question, where you have two 12 volt inverters and a 24 volt
bank, I would caution against a DC-DC converter.  While these allow taking
12 volts DC applications from a 24 volt bank, we find many converters fail
when the half-tap load is an inverter.  This is due to the ripple that is
imposed across the converter which it tries to follow and correct.  They run
really hot.

The other solution suggested, changing to different inverters to match the
battery voltage is one way, but a third way:  REARRANGE the battery bank to
a 12 volt bank, then use the Outback MX charge control to charge the 12 volt
bank from whatever 24 volt source you have.

Hi All,

Can I stack 2 Sw 2512's into a center taped 24v battery bank?

The reason as I'm sure you are going to ask is a friend with a really large
hydro, we are talking 200 amps at 12v from the hydro.  And he is trying to
improve that by going to 24v.

But he already has the SW's, hence the question.
