Is the SW being discontinued? [RE-wrenches]

Dear Roy,
Thank you for the information. Sounds good to me. I've been happy with my
pre-GTI grid-tie SW4048, as have many other people and would like to see a
better SW. Is Xantrex any closer to offering max power point tracking with
batteries?
Best regards,
Joel Davidson

Hi Joel,

Below I have listed most of the differences/improvements;

* Non-volatile memory - Installer defined setting can be saved and retained.
Factory settings always available - if needed
* Improved emissions - FCC Class B compliant
* AC end - Larger AC terminals, Front and bigger AC wiring access, Optional
accessories are easily accessed from the outside, Common ground bus bar
* DC end - Temp sensor port moved to DC side, close to battery cable routing
* Fan circuit based on voltage, not current
* Improved reliability - 4-layer power board, all exposed holes screened,
new galvanized steel chassis
* AC Board Additions - external ALM/GSM modules (allows for easier
installation close to load/genset),
* EPO compatibility - Allows Emergency Power Off switch to be connected
* Power transformers changed/moved for better air flow and weight balance,
reduced transformer hum
* Improved thermal performance - full power at over 40 degrees C ambient
* Tested prior to launch - over 35,000 hours cumulative beta site testing.
* Significantly improved surge
* New programming option allowing use of utility as a backup charge source
second to a renewable source
* Silent Standby Feature - shuts down charger and inverter FETs while
allowing power to pass through to loads
* Lower dealer cost (List priced reduced to $2,800 for 4kw models and $3,500
for 5.5kw model)

Most of the changes were made with the installer in mind...should make your
life easier.
I didn't detail all the programming changes...too many to list and besides I
don't want to tip off the folks out back, behind our facility. If you would
like these details contact me off list.

Thanks,

Dear Roy,
Thanks for the update. What are the differences between the new product and
the
pre-GTI line-tie SW4048?
Best regards,
Joel Davidson
