Our local AHJ wants to see the three part "J hub" grounding connectors.
Although Acorn clamp type connectors have a listing for connection to rebar,
he feels strongly that connecting copper directly to steel is a really bad
idea, and I don't disagree. Separating two with bronze seems to work in the
long haul.
Also, we don't embed our ufer connection here--the rebar must stick up out
of the slab (usually in the vicinity of the panel if your are nice to your
concrete sub) and a plaster ring is set in the drywall to provide access to
the clamp to allow inspection.
