Hey Graham,
Yes, that's why in the EV industry the MosFet controllers fry quite a
bit whereas the IGBTs seem to hold up - lot's of surges and back emfs
in an electric vehicle - quick power changes . And IGBTs are more
efficient but it's the reliability that's key.
