Kohler generator UL listing [RE-wrenches]

Steve,

I've been told by one of our dealers that ONAN has listed some of their
generators already.  He had been red tagged on a couple of residential
installations for non-listed generator as early as 2 years ago.  The
wording in the Oregon law used to say "No person shall sell or convey a
non-listed electrical device."  There were 2 exceptions, "the rotating
portion of a generator and some specialty device, I think used in
commercial air conditioning."  I don't know if the law has been changed
or is just being enforced.

Our distributor just informed us that Oregon, Washington, and some other
states require a UL2200 listing on all generators or the system will not
pass inspection. Kohler 10RY and 12 RY 1800 rpm propane/natural gas
generators commonly used in this industry do not have this listing.  Any
building permitted after April in at least those 2 states may not pass
inspection with these generators.
