Update to Xantrex upgrade...still waiting [RE-wrenches]

Fellow Wrenches,

I recently swapped out two Sun-Tie 2500s via the Xantrex Upgrade Program.
Here is my first field report:
* Units used identical enclosures ‹ swap out was a breeze.
* Units used the new XR terminal lay-out ‹ easier to use
* I ran one old unit and one new unit side-by-side each with an array that
was the twin of the other in configuration and orientation. Both units
started up in the same amount of time. The new unit ramped up to MPP about
3 to 4X faster than the old unit. New unit did not exhibit any MPP
³hunting² like the old unit and produced about 1.2kWh to the old unit¹s
700Wh over a one hour period.
* New unit is significantly quieter
* New display provides useful and interesting data such as MPPT target
voltage vs actual voltage, kWh for day and since energized, run hours,
current (i.e. Now) output

All in all, I think Xantrex finally pulled one out and I was very impressed
with my initial observations ‹ and this is from a guy who has SMA tattooed
in a heart on his arm! However, before I get too warm and gushy, I want to
get some hours on the little beasties. I¹ll keep you posted.

Peace!
Mo
