Hey Keith,

I have seen several mid-sized PV systems installed ontop of flat metal 
roofs which have steel-I beams located above the membrane.  "Beam 
clamps" were used to secure PV mounting structures to the beams.  
Drilling holes through the roof and inserting threaded rods into beam 
clamps may be a solution, but would probably need two clamps on each 
side of each beam.  There must be engineering availble for beam clamps?  
It seems to me this would be easier than drilling through the beams.
