Altitude effects on PV performance [RE-wrenches]

I checked some PVs in the mountains in Costa Rica at about 5,000 feet
a couple of weeks ago and was surprised to see that the two
middle-aged modules were performing above spec. It was an
edge-of-cloud effect day, but I also wondered if the altitude made a
difference too, since the sun seemed quite intense there.
