Steam Engines Anyone? [RE-wrenches]

Yes, he can do it but.... I doubt he really wants to baby sit a boiler and
feed it. A boiler that would produce just a few kW (via a belt driven
alternator) would produce literally hundreds of thousands of usable waste
BTU's. For it to really work right you would want to set it up somthing
like you would set up a large SHW space heating system with a very large
(1000's of gallons) storage tank. Then fire boiler once a week to charge up
batteries with kWh's and the storage tank with BTU's.

I've set up several home scale steam engines. They were manufactured by the
author of the above article. I haven't spoke to him for several years and
his website wasn't up when I just checked it a few minutes ago.

Does anyone what is up with Skip? He was not in great health the last time
I visited him several years ago.

The boilers that I've dealt with are not something for the timid and are
very, very dangerous. Is the corn fed boiler your customer is talking about
is really a steam boiler? Could it be similiar to the outdoor wood fired
water heaters? They are often called boilers but they aren't.
