I've not seen as wide spread use of set-screw wire nuts in the US as up
here in Canada. I have been using them for years and think they are
awesome for good solid hold when joining a number of conductors.

Subject: waterproof wire nuts [RE-wrenches]
I've been using set screw style wire nuts on my DC wiring for the last
four years. Gooping them with a dab of silicon can't hurt, especially in
marine environments, but I don't know if it's necessary from a Code POV.
I don't suppose anyone knows if they come in an "outdoor" version?
