Genwizard [RE-wrenches]

Kirk,

We've installed one or two of the Solar Converters units. they are too
complex for what they do, but we've made them work fine, even on a Honda
which is the toughest.

We did have one problem where the generator would not start when the power
was connected to the generator. (It was a plug in connection to a small
Honda.) Unplugged, generator started fine on the unit. Plugged in, would not
start. Eventually we found that the inverters (stacked DR1512's, no we did
not install or sell the job) were wired incorrectly. I believe the neutral
was connected together before the unit or something like that. We corrected
it (the inverters had been operating fine) and now the generator starts no
problem.

I don't know if it was a solar converters problem (I don't think so) or had
something to do with the complex Honda starting circuit seeing a small
amount of back feed current and thinking it was already on.

Anyway, if you want some assistance on the solar converters unit, call Dan
at the office, he may remember a trick or two on them. (And if you blow the
1/2A fuse, I think we have a spare or two from when we blew one.)

See you at the rebate meeting tomorrow (Yes, VT has rebates and CA does not.
What a world...)

hello,

If anyone has an old Photron Genwizard gathering dust, please contact me
offline. I need to autostart a generator and have had no luck using the
Solar Converters unit.

thanks, Kirk
