Solar Arrays. [RE-wrenches]

The white backsheet reflects light and heat away from the solar module. Black
Tedlar front and back sheets used for appearance cause the cells to heat up
faster than the black radiates heat from the front or back of the module. The
white front and back sheet and the EVA lamination process also increase cell
efficiency. There are various theories why this occurs, but the results are
measureable. All this has been tested many years ago when PV was much more
expensive and module designers were trying to squeeze every $/W out of a
module.
