There was a similar incident here in Vermont back in the 90s. The array was
part of an EV charging station (not installed by us). One night the whole
thing just up and walked away without a trace. Ironically, the installation
was right in front of the State Police barracks!
Is anybody using tamper-proof hardware for these situations? Maybe some rack
fabs are offering this as an option? If not they should. When you're putting
up thousands of dollars worth of equipment out in insecure locations (remote
camps, state police barracks...) it just makes sense to take some extra
precautions.
