Xantrex versus Sunny Boy [RE-wrenches]

Thanks to all who have contributed their views on this thorny question.
Little did I know the discussion it would generate...Just for kicks, I used
my Maui Solarsoftware PV design program to compare the 30.6 kW system split
over the south, east and west roofs with one 30 kW inverter and a
hypothetical 30.6 kW on a single south roof with a 30 kW inverter. (I used
the combined efficiencies of both the inverter and iso transformer.) The
results for yearly AC kWh production: the 30.6 kW array on the hypothetical
south roof produced about 5 percent more kWhs. If we add another, say, 5
percent reduction due to night-time transformer appetite, then that yearly
kWh number is even smaller. But compared to what? Unfortunately, the PV
design program does not, as far as I know, allow the user to swap the 30 kW
inverter for 12 Sunny Boys. I, too, will be very interested in Bill's
comparison data between the PV series inverter and the Sunny Boys once it's
available.

To be clear my 6% loss figure is from total daily production not real time
or instantanious. In other words I see 6% of my total daily PV production
going to 24/7 transformer appetite.
