ground resistance [RE-wrenches]

Jay,

Grounding system tests are not often done in the field (frame to ground
resistance). The only way a reading has any validity is if the resistance
measurement is made at full ground current. Continuity or resistance checks
at zero current is almost meaningless. As soon as current flows, resistance
of all connections change--particularly simple metal-to-annodized aluminum
contact.

Bill.

Subject: ground resistance [RE-wrenches]

HI Bill and John,

In checking exsisting systems for ground bonding to mounting frames, what
readings should I be looking for. IE whats too high?

Thanks,

jay
