Direct Coupling [RE-wrenches]

Mark,

Isn't that why the SB series has MPPT? All of the MPPT devices I'm familiar
with do a good job of balancing available light with the lowest acceptable
needs of the device they power. Wouldn't that include lighting loads?

Thanks, all.

I really appreciate the help and support. The links you've suggested
on and off-list are making a difference. That Nextek product you mentioned
seems to have some legs... commercial solar systems without inverters.
Hmmmm.

In case you don't recognize my name, I spent the last several years in
customer service at Advanced Energy dealing with inverters that had
problems. People were switching to the AEI product because of Trace
inverters that had problems.

An un-resolved question, though, is whether there is any advantage
to collecting the power that the panel produces before an inverter would
normally come on. Most measures of inverter efficiency don't count this.
They start counting when the panel has enough power to kick on the inverter.
Is it significant? Anyone know if this has been studied?

Regards,
Mark
