Matt and Doug,
Thanks for clearing this up. I had a big 1947 model Borg Warner Norge in the
1970s (I traded an Avocado green Sears side-by-side refrig/freezer $0.03/kWh
power hog to a neighbor for it). Got to play around with lots of gas
refrigerators, talk to oldtimers, borrowed the manometer from the local
appliance store many times (until someone "lost" it). All amonia/water
absorbtion gas refrigerators are basically the same. No moving parts.
Beautiful in their simplicity. Banned in many cities (not the refrig - the
apartment hookup) because of many gas fires from bad connections. If any of
you have a gas refrigerator, keep it clean and tuned up so that the next
generation can use it.
