Bird kills [RE-wrenches]

No kidding Jeff! Birds hit windows all the time. In my old house (with one
entire glass wall) it was horrible every spring. We even put up full sized
stickers of hawks and owls, let the glass get really dirty, but only stopped
the problem after installing huge split-bamboo screens on the outside of the
windows! And yes, cats get lots of birds too. Windows and cats seldom get
eagles, redtail hawks, buzzards, seagulls and other large birds of prey and
scavengers though. These are the usual victims of my favorite technology,
not songbirds.
Ignoring or getting irritated at the mention of the problem won't lessen the
problem. It remains a challenging
facet of the wind energy field and will only be eliminated through
thoughtful, constructive design and installation technologies. (IMHO)

Windows in downtown Toronto kill more birds than all of the windgens in N.
America. Here at my home, since the tower has been up, my windows have
killed 2 birds and zero for the tower/wind gen.
