Thanks. As I remember, this was a German design that came out a number of
years ago. I believe they built a pilot plant somewhere in Spain, but way,
way smaller. 3200 feet high? Holy Smokes!

The huge area surrounding the stack is covered with some kind of
semi-flexible fabric, which acts as a huge thermal collector, the heat
built-up then hauls ass up the stack, turning the turbines inside. One would
hope that this is to be built in a very, very low wind area. ;-)
