Quandry(was Help needed in Tuolumne County) [RE-wrenches]

Steve, etc.,

Update on the Tuolomne County discussion: I went up to the site and
discovered the following problems:
Incorrectly programmed inverters (2 X 12 volt Sinewaves not a good choice),
batteries installed immediately under the inverters with no enclosure,
propane water heater sharing the same space (Yikes!),
inadequate ventilation for batteries, imbalanced loads in the house, an
un-needed external battery charger and a generator with no on-board breaker
or fuse! After re-programming the 2 Traces, getting rid of the superfluous
charger and fixing the load imbalance, the system works quite well. I also
sold them on a power vent for the battery box they have had built at my
suggestion and, nicely, I'm going to be putting in a PV system for them come
next spring! There is no appreciable hydro resource.

I also told them about critical quiet mufflers, (he's getting one), spark
arrestors, (he's getting one of those too), and he's going to have an
appropriate breaker mounted on the genset. They were very grateful for the
visit and very happy with the resulting change in their power system. These
were really great people who had received service from two different
inexperienced outfits which resulted in very poor battery performance and a
potentially disastrous situation in the battery shed.

Alls well that ends well.

Matt
