Graham:

The value of any commodity is what someone is willing to pay for it.
Someone was obviously willing to pay $50K for this system because it is
there.  The real key is this:  Will the same person willing to purchase the
house also appreciate the value of the PV system?  This may eliminate a few
buyers who do not adequately value the PV system.  I've learned to take
only so much advise from a realtor.  The seller must not be swayed by a
realtor who wants to make a quick sale versus waiting for the right buyer,
in this case, the one who also wants to pay an adequate amount for the PV
system.
