SPAM: RE: Industry testing (was PV orientation) [RE-wrenches]

John,

I think we are very close on the performance testing. I talked with Chuck
yesterday, and he said to pass along that the draft inverter performance
document will be out next month. Obviously yours and other manufacturers
input will be greatly appreciated to finalize the standard. In the meantime,
we can start testing to a draft standard and see how things turn out.

Bill.

William:

Sandia is prohibited from doing performance comparisons.
This is why Tom Hund's battery / charge controller studies were always
Battery A, Charge controller B, etc.

I have been asked Sandia, NREL, CEC, Endecon, FSEC, ect. For performance
testing for almost two years now.

I think maybe they are getting close to having a draft of a proposed
test.
Or, maybe not.

Your tax dollars hard at work.

If you have any questions, or if I can be of any further assistance,
please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best Regards,

John Berdner

Friends:

What is the mandate for Sandia Labs? Shouldn't they consider tests such
as
this? Can we ask them to do this type of testing? Can't they test
GC1000s, STXR inverters and SB inverters and give us definitive answers
on
performance? How about consumer reports? I'd like better data!
