American energy use [RE-wrenches]

Mornin' all

Pretty similar up here, a bit higher not surprising given the hours of
darkness during the winter months. 30 kWh per day for "typical"
non-electrically heated home. My own off-grid electricity hog (electric
refrigeration, irrigation and home office etc.) uses around 3.5 to 4 kWh per
day.

As I traveled around tradeshows in the past few years I've been impressed at
how well the average "Joe or Jane homeowner" have grasped the concept of
daily load and the attendant concept of load reduction. I've spoken to
quite a few folks who have managed to drop 8 or 10 kWh per day as they got
themselves ready to purchase their solar system. It seems that for much of
our marketplace energy conservation and self generation are coupled, which
in my view, is appropriate and desireable.

Regards, and may the rain either start or stop depending on where you live..

Ezra.
