Inverters islanding in L.A. [RE-wrenches]

Ok, so there is a potentially real issue.
1. What action has the manufacturer taken relative to this issue?
2. When a toaster causes a fire, and a problem is found in the UL listing, the
manufacturer pulls back that toaster, and tells everyone not to use it. (I
could use an example of a car, that could hurt other people through it's
malfunction, but just chose the toaster. Insert your favorite device into the
sentence.)
3. Why do ALL inverters get locked out due to failure of one specific type,
from one specific manufacturer?
4. Can you provide any more details on the islanding?
5. Basketball? The Celts are out of it. Why watch?
