Net Metering [RE-wrenches]

Dear Friends,

Thanks to allan and all who assisted me with net metering contracts and
advice.

I only wish that I had lots of time to spend campaigning for a good agreement
in NZ.

I have taken the task of chairing the technical group of the NZPVA, an
industry lobby group but the cost of participating in the process tends to
eliminate the little players like me.

Seminars on the electrical reform process for example are about US$700 to
attend.

I am a small operator struggling to survive and can see that corporate
interests gradually taking over the process.

Thankfully some of the power corporations have some RE friendly personnel and
it is important not to loose hope.

New Zealand pushes the clean and green image but is way behind in supporting
RE initiatives.  The argument is that we have bulk Hydro Power generation and
are RE enough already.

It is ironic that one of the cleanest countries is not officially supporting
new RE initiatives.

On the other hand the NZ Govt is about to impose a heavy carbon tax...

Clever politicians find a way to make a buck out of Kyoto no matter how green
we are.

I hope this rave is not out of place here chaps...
