Jeff's guess is worth investigation. If the check valve were hanging, the
DC pump kicking on could be causing it to reseat, which would explain why
the SQ wouldn't build pressure over 15 psi, then would work fine.(check the
pump chart to estimate the flow rate of the leak)
We did a few dual pump systems for y2k, they can be lots of trouble,
especially when you have different pressure switchs and pumps feeding from
different sources to the same pressure tank.
Windy's probably right though, I have had bad luck with an SQ pressure pump
on a DR series inverter 4 years ago. It would try to start, run through a
couple of different RPMS, then shut off.
