Drake and Larry,

I think its a fine idea and its great that inspectors like Larry's work, my
only concern is that it does not get you past the super anal inspector. I
want installation methods that stand up to every level of scrutiny. That way
any installer who uses the fully approved method can rest assured that if an
inspector challenges the installation, it will prove to be fully compliant.
With hundreds of systems going in with the scrutiny of inspectors here in
California, these pesky little design issues are a pain. I fully understand
the frustration of installers and place the blame on manufacturers that take
their products to 90% completion and throw the installer to the wolves of
code enforcers.

The ideal situation would be to have UL and ICBO (International Conference
of Building Officials) compliance on the installation technique. This would
eliminate questions. Questions cost money.

Do inspectors accept it?  Is there a listing issue?
