E H Roy,

There is a beach community in Southern California with over a hundred
aluminum-framed modules on top of bus stop shelters. They have been in
service for a few years and some have brown marine grade paint applied
onto the frames. The un-painted modules look much better. The painted
modules have a mottled look because the paint is flaking off. The SM
modules I have worked with have black frames as opposed to bronze.
Either way I think they will look great and should hold up well. I have
several anodized aluminum fly-fishing reels that have been soaked with
salt water many times and not cleaned as often as the manufacturer
recommends, and there is no sign of corrosion.

Siemens has a Power Point presentation about solar power for marine
applications. I can send you a copy. It is a few years old and Siemens
may have a newer version.
